Looking back on The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2025

Last November was my first time as an accredited Freelance Photographer at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. I had a wonderful group of clients, including competitors from Ontario, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia. It was so exciting to capture this special show for them as they took on the national stage at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto. For some, it was their first time ever competing at The Royal! I had clients in the pony divisions, derbies, equitation, and jumpers.

The Royal is truly a spectacular and exciting horse show. I remember being 12 years old and dreaming of the day I could compete here. I never quite made it to the Royal, but here I am in a different light, living vicariously through all of my clients.

I do my best to capture how it feels. The emotions, the nerves, the excitement, and the atmosphere. It’s a unique experience that deserves to be documented with beautiful imagery. My coverage at the Royal includes photos from the warm-up ring, hitching ring, in-gate, and the main arena. It offers a special perspective, as I not only capture the big moments in the arena, but also what happens before and after that.
